Just thought I’d drop you guys a quick email to compliment you all on last week. I have been lucky enough to be able to attend for the past 4 years now, and I believe its getting better every year.
The education side of the event, I believe is very important to help justify my time and that of my staff. The workshops I believe are very good, with a good mix of courses for all levels across the profession. They are well delivered and contain interaction which helps delegates get involved, rather that just been spoken to. I attended the Turf Managers Conference as well this year for the first time, and enjoyed the individual speakers and the mix of subjects a great deal, and listened to speakers I wouldn’t have otherwise.
Through the rest of the week the various seminars are also of growing interest. I have tried to attend more each year, and most of those I attended this year were full. Just shows how popular these are.
The show was busier than I have ever seen before, giving a great atmosphere. I met several greenkeepers I haven’t met for a few years, and it was great to catch up and chat. I am getting to meet a few guys each year and starting to become good friends with some now, just through Harrogate Week
All in all it was a really good week, and it’s great that more members appear to have supported it this year. Well done to you all at BIGGA.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Harrogate, and found it a really worthwhile experience. I live and work in a very remote area, and it is all too easy to become detached and isolated from the rest of the industry. Spending 2 days at the show in the company of Keith Martin, Kevin Smith and Greg Sherwood from Machrihanish Dunes allowed me the opportunity to not only catch up on advancements in machinery and agronomic technology, but also to meet a lot of professional people who I had either never had the opportunity to speak with before, or who I had met previously but had not seen for a long time. I came back to Machrie with renewed enthusiasm and increased product knowledge, and I have no doubt that my employers and the members of the Islay Golf Club will benefit from this experience.

The attendance speaks for itself, it was great to see such a positive turnout, which I hope will help to inject a good dose of positivity into the trade. I’m sure weather and the machinery manufacturers being back this year had an effect.

This was my first time to attend Harrogate Week and I couldn't be happier. I found it to be very beneficial for us to attend. I made many contacts that I am sure will lead to increased business. The traffic through the show was excellent on all three days. The BIGGA staff were very helpful, the show facilities are excellent and my hotel was only a few minutes walk from the Convention Centre and the many local dining options. I’ll be coming back. Thank you again for organising such a great event.
