Wireless Internet Access

At HIC delegates and visitors are able to access the Internet using their WiFi equiped Laptop or PDA through the wireless network installed in all the catering areas throughout the site as well as the foyers of the main auditorium and the exhibition halls.

Use of this facility is available by purchasing a voucher. There are three voucher types; The Premier voucher allows 60 minutes access. You choose when you want to use your minutes and any unused time can be carried over to your next visit. We also have daily and weekly vouchers that are designed to provide always-on connections for the life of the voucher.
Prices for the voucher cards are;

Premier voucher cards can be purchased from any of the catering outlets on the day of your visit. Daily and weekly cards should be ordered in advance using the IT services order form.

Wired Internet Access

Clients and exhibitors requiring a more robust Internet access solution can book a HIC network connection providing high-speed access to a shared 10mb LES 10 circuit. This service is also equipped with automatic failover to a 2mb ADSL backup service via an alternate supplier.

The service is presented as an RJ45 connection (male) with IP addresses allocated by DHCP server.

HIC can provide IT support and configuration including fixed IP addresses, firewall configuration, "raw" Internet access and PC hire.

For an extra £50 HIC can also provide you with a telephone handset using Voice over IP technology, which will allow you to make calls over your broadband connection. This service includes £5 worth of free calls and the supply of a state-of-the-art Cisco 7912 IP handset.

Wired and Wireless Networking Solutions

HIC can offer full IT support and configuration and provide network services throughout the site using a 100mb Cisco equipped switched network. This infrastructure allows organisers and exhibitors to build "virtual" networks to meet their event needs including web-casting and remote access to corporate networks.

If your exhibit relies on an Internet presentation it is recommended that you use wired Internet access.

Email Access

Only web based email accounts are accessible through the HIC IT network unless you are using a VPN connection.

If you want to access your corporate network then your company must be using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Please consult your IT department to see if this technology is in place and for guidance on its use.

Standard Analogue Telephone Lines

HIC standard analogue telephone lines, can be used with a handset, fax, PDQ machine or modem for dial up Internet access.
